The Beach (Vacation Part 3)

Our trip took a lot longer than we expected because of some bad weather and traffic, so by the time we got there, it was night. It didn't matter to me, though - I wanted to get to the beach! Since we were starving, we got Pappa Johns, and took it to the beach to eat it! We TRIED to get in the water, but it was coooooold, so we just relaxed and listened to the waves.

Don't know how well you can see, but this is the beach at night!

The next day we got up early and made it to the beach around 9:30am. We didn't leave til almost 5! It was wonderful, and very relaxing, though I did get a little sunburned. It was worth it, though!

The view from "our spot"

"Our spot" for the day

So pretty!

The 2nd day we went, we didn't stay quite as long. It rained a little bit in the morning, and the storms in the gulf were stirring up all the algae in the water, and it was nasty to wade through! So we just sat and played in the sand for a while, and then went back to the hotel room to relax!
Can you see it? That says "Jeremy & Lindsay"!

Can you tell I wasn't going anywhere for a while? :)

So, that was our trip. What did YOU do over the weekend?

The Trip There (Vacation Part 2)

My crocheting work in the car

Mobile sky-line

Looking out across the water

Escambia Bay, in Pensacola - our first good look at the beach!

This mustang made me think of Andrew

Driving over the bridge towards Navarre

Our GPS didn't know what to think - all it could see was water!

Jeremy wouldn't let me drive at all! :( Darn, that means I had to crochet, read & nap the whole way there & back.

Anniversary Trip

Jeremy & I celebrated our 10th annivesary in Navarre, FL last weekend. We had an amazing time - we got four days of all-grown-up conversation (except, of course, for talking with the kids on the phone, and getting an abundance of text messages from my 8-year-old). It was very relaxing, and, though we were very glad to get home to babies, it was a wonderful, perfect vacation.

Here are some photos of all the places we ate!
(More pictures to come)

Landry's in Louisiana.
Jeremy's always wanted to eat here, and we pass it every time we go through LA. It was very nice!

Mesquite Charlies:

This restaurant had a lot of "atmosphere", and the BEST BBQ we've ever eaten.

Lamberts:

We came home through Foley, AL, and stopped at the outlet malls they have there. We had a blast shopping all day, and when we needed a break, we went to Lambert's, home of the "Throwed Roll". Yes...they MEAN it. They actually THROW the rolls at you, in Jeremy's case from across the room! Wonderful, too much to eat, but had a great time!

Just keep swimming, just keep swimming...

We are blessed to have wonderful friends. In addition to teaching our Sunday School class and just taking good care of us, they also let us use their pool from time to time. Here are some pictures from the fabulous afternoon we had. We wanted to do something special with the kids, since Jeremy is leaving for Denver tomorrow. It was a very relaxing afternoon:

Jacob LOVES the water

Jeremy thought Jacob wanted to fly! (BTW, Jacob LOVED it.)

Astros game

A few weeks go we got the pleasure of seeing the Houston Astros beat them, um, Jeremy will have to comment because I don't remember who they played! We went with one of the Sunday School classes at church, and we all had a really great time. We took ALL FOUR kids, which we won't do again for a really long time, but it was a lot of fun. We even got to see...um, Carlos Lee? his a Grand Slam!! It was a really amazing game, and Matthew, especially, was in heaven. :) Here are a few photos.

It was hot! Jacob liked all the food!

It was ALMOST a date...:)

Brothers - they really enjoyed watching the game together. I love those guys! :)

Twins!

I'm really not good at telling who looks like who - when people ask me that, I always shrug and say, "Oh, I don't know."

BUT - when I saw these pictures I almost died! I have SEEN Jacob make these faces at me in the bathtub - and, especially before we cut Jacob's hair, I seriously thought I ws looking at Jacob in these pictures. It's amazing the resemblance.

(BTW, sorry to Jeremy for posting these, but I couldn't resist.)
