Co-Op and Making Music

Today we started a very informal, low-key homeschool co-op that meets once a month. The kids get a chance to do some "music theater", and give presentations. Today was "show & tell" day.

Matthew got up and spoke about his pet hermit crab "Crazy" (named thus because of the 8 on his back - get it, crazy eights? *that's the way Matthew described it to me*). He enjoyed speaking in front of all of us, and telling about his crab:

Annie told us all about her favorite bear: Goldie. This was a gift given to her by Granny when she got her root canal and teeth pulled, and we NEVER let this bear out of our sights. (You can probably tell that it's seldom washed.)

Andrew was very excited about getting up in front of everyone and speaking. He brought his tiger (whose name is, appropriately, Tiger). When his turn came, he jumped up out of his seat, and ran eagerly to the front of the room, turned around, and promptly burst into tears. I couldn't get him to say another word. This is him just starting to tear up:

It was pitiful, but also kind of funny at the same time. :)

Later that day, the kids put on a "play" for us. Matthew just had his FIRST piano lesson ever, so he was playing the piano, Annie was dancing, Andrew on the guitar, and Jacob....well, you'll see Jacob. Enjoy. :)

Psalty

Last night was our Psalty musical at church! After months of a LOT of hard work, we were finally able to share with our church, friends & family what God had put on our hearts. That might sound "preachy" but it is totally how I feel. The kids did an AWESOME job! I really enjoyed watching them sing their hearts out. We will have one more performance, next week, at an apartment complex here in town. It is a "mini-mission-trip" for our 1st through 5th graders, and I think will be an awesome experience.

Here are a few pictures. I don't want to post pics of OTHER people's kids without their permission, so you won't get the whole "effect", but my babies sure looked darling! I will have some video up soon for you!

Jeremy and his friend Jeremy they worked very hard on all the "tech" stuff.

Mom & Aunt Betty - they worked soo hard!

Annie performance

Sorry about the quality of these videos! I took them with my phone at church. =)

This was Annie's children's choir performance at church a couple of weeks ago. They played "Jesus Loves Me" on handbells, and then sang. They also sang "Our God is an Awesome God." This is a song Annie LOVES, and she has taught it to Andrew. It is so cute to hear them sing it together!
